Rotary Club of Box Hill Central has been a long standing sponsor of the Koorie Student of the Year Award at Box Hill Institute. Since 2019, we have extended our support through annual Koorie Access and Equity Scholarships, providing practical financial assistance early in the year for student with financial difficulities.
On Thursday, November 13th, President Elect Niranjan Ramjee and Community Service Lead Malcolm Chiverton proudly represented our club in presenting scholarships to three outstanding recipients.
The three scholarship recipients each demonstrated strong commitment to their chosen fields of study and admirable dedication to their personal and professional development. While each is currently facing financial challenges, this scholarship support enables them to continue their education through a difficult period without giving up their academic opportunities and future aspirations.
Our engagement with this initiative continues under the leadership of our Community Service Team and Jackie Chow, Scholarships and Welfare Officer at Box Hill Institute. We are delighted to confirm our Club has just committed to further scholarship support for another three students for next year.
We were also pleased to welcome Jackie to our November 19th club meeting, where she initiated further dialogue and collaboration. Her proactive engagement is greatly appreciated, and we look forward to continuing our strong partnership in supporting the education and development of young community members.
