Who are we?
Our Club was established in 1990 and is one of 32,000 Rotary Clubs worldwide. Rotary International is the world’s premier community service organisation. It operates in nearly every country and has strong credibility at the highest levels of business and government. In Rotary you have almost limitless opportunities to help others with initiatives ranging from involvement in the global “End Polio Now” project, to organising a youth leadership activity or helping at a local community event.

Membership
We have around 40 members in the club and about 30% are women. We are a busy Club with an impressive range of projects both locally and overseas. There are many opportunities to volunteer - and also lots of opportunities to have fun! Please note that Rotary has no political or religious affiliations, so these things play no part in Rotary meetings or activities. What happens at Club meetings?
We meet on Wednesday mornings for breakfast and the meeting starts promptly at 7:30 am. We begin with announcements and project reports from members as we enjoy our breakfast. Our guest speaker starts at 8 am and the meeting finishes promptly at 8:30 - as many members need to get to work. Our meetings run to an agenda with a minimum of formality, no anthems, oaths or toasts - just a friendly get-together where we discuss Club projects, listen to the guest speaker and catch up with colleagues over breakfast.
Where do we meet?
We meet at the stunning Box Hill Golf Club at 202 Station Street, Box Hill south, Victoria, Australia - see here for a map. |
We have a busy social calendar
There is always some social activity being planned and over the years there have been lots of dinners, Christmas bbq's, visits to museums etc - there is no pressure to be part of these - but some people just want to have fun! We always try to have some events that involve members children and/or grandchildren. Subscribe to our weekly newsletter |
