International Women's Day Breakfast in Box Hill

International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated globally on 8th March each year.  Our club organised our first IWD breakfast in 2014 and it has grown progressively each year. The primary objective of the event is to celebrate women's achievements on the road to gender equality - and to raise funds in support of local women's charities.
It is now organised by a committee from a number of local Rotary Clubs and is held in the Box Hill Town Hall.  It is a much anticipated event each year.
The breakfasts are primarily a celebratory event and have an engaging theme that is debated by an expert panel.  Themes in recent years have been "If she Ruled the World" and "The Media, Women's Friend or Foe".

Sponsors Required

As well as celebrating women's progress to gender equality, the generous sponsors of the breakfast allow us to make a substantial donation to a local women's charity or support agency.  In recent years we have donated to Cara Inc, Women's Health East, $10,000 was donated to Project Respect in 2017. A range of sponsorship opportunities are available. Further details from don@sweeneymail.com

The event is run as part of a "Women in Rotary" initiative, first started at the Rotary Club of Albert Park and we are grateful for their assistance when we established the event in Box Hill.
