From Rotary Foundation Director Diane: 
 
$US1,000 was committed recently for End Polio Now, attracting $US1,000 matching from Rotary District 9810, further attracting $US500 from The Rotary Foundation World Fund and a further $US5,000 from Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, conditional on Rotary International achieving $US50mil.
 
The power of matching to help achieve Rotary’s goal since 1985 to End Polio Now.

We congratulate Diane Fisher for achieving a Ruby Companion with Australian Rotary Health.    Since 1997, Diane has sponsored the Rotary Ride For Research 9810 and has now surpassed a cumulative $20,000 contribution.

ASRC Feast for Freedom
 
The Satellite Club has limited vacancies for RCBHC members to join us for a night of international culinary delights on Saturday 12 August at 7pm. 
 
We will be dining on a range of fare from the countries of origin of Australian refugee and asylum seekers, provided by the Satellite Club members, and raising funds for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. 
 
Bookings are limited to 20 people in total as it’s being held at one of our member’s home in Blackburn -special thanks to our hosts Debbie & Peter. We request $30 donation per person.
To help Satellite club support Asylum Seeker Resource Centre food bank, please bring some of these most needed grocery items to club meeting Wed 16 Aug for collection by Tess. Or bring to ASRC Feast for Freedom dinner Aug 12.
IMPACT for Women
 
On Saturday 22 July 5 satellite members and two friends attended a packing session at IMPACT’s warehouse in Sandringham. We packed hand knitted clothing and toys for babies and children who will spend their December including festivity times such as Christmas and Hanukkah in a shelter for women impacted by domestic violence. Well done ladies!
 
We look forward to welcoming members to our satellite meetings.

"Yesterday I attended the exhibition of Rembrandt’s paintings at the NGV  under the guidance of Brian Martin. It is amazing how when seeing masterpieces such these, the experience is so much enhanced when guided by an expert like Brian.
 
I understand he may continue these guided tours thru part of August, so if you interested contact him. You won’t be disappointed!"
